Please read this before using the Azan Application

• You must select your location and azan settings correctly. If your selection is wrong, your prayer time will be wrong. When you start this application for first time, it will automatically detect your country and capital city. If this is the city you are living then select that city (Option | select). If this is not your city then scroll up or down to see if your city is there, if it is there select it (Option | select). If your city is not there, follow the next steps to insert it.
• Insert your correct location, option one:
  Select automatic (Options | Location | Automatic) if we want to get your location automatically (if your phone has built in GPS), this will bring your Country and City with your location information automatically, you don't need to insert by yourself. Azan program knows where you are in the world.
• Insert your correct location, option two:
  Get your latitude and longitude from this link. (zoom the map and click on your location on the map)
• Select Options location and Insert. Insert following string "country city latitude longitude" for example my location is Dhaka, Bangladesh and I insert this: Bangladesh Dhaka 23.5237 90.4394
• 23.5237 90.4394, this location information has been taken from Google map in the previous step
• How to fix for wrong Azan time:


• If only Asor time is wrong change the Asor ratio (in setting view) from Hanafi to Shafi or Shafit to Hanafi.
• If all prayer time is wrong then change the day light saving (in setting view) Yes to No or No to Yes.
• Calculation method in settings view is important for correct time. There are 5 calculation methods available in Azan software. Each calculation method calculates prayer time differently. Please change it to suitable calculation method that match your prayer time. If you change the calculation method and go back to main view then you can see the new calculated time. This selection is necessary for only one time. Since Hemelix does not know which method match to you, so you need to select right one that match your prayer time.
• For version 1.3.0 (Check with Option | About)
  If you notice still there are some differences then please insert those minutes (differences between actual time and the time calculated by phone) in Corrections in Minutes field (Settings | Correction in Minutes). For example actual Maghrib time is 18:30 (6:30 PM) at your location and phone is showing 18:25 (6:25 PM), you insert 0+0+0+5+0 in Corrections in Minutes in the settings. If actual Maghrib time is 18:30 (6:30 PM) and phone is showing 18:35 (6:35 PM), you insert 0+0+0-5+0 (minus 5) in Corrections in Minutes in the settings. For other prayer time inset it in the same way in the same settings.
• For version 1.2.0 (Check with Option | About)
  If you notice still there are some differences then please insert those minutes (differences between actual time and the time calculated by phone) in Corrections in Minutes field (Settings | Correction in Minutes). For example actual Maghrib time is 18:30 (6:30 PM) at your location and phone is showing 18:25 (6:25 PM), you insert 5 in Corrections in Minutes in the settings. If actual Maghrib time is 18:30 (6:30 PM) and phone is showing 18:35 (6:35 PM), you insert -5 (minus 5) in Corrections in Minutes in the settings. Azan application will remember this and add/subtract it to the calculated time inshallah.
• After changing any settings please restart the app (Options | Exit and start the azan again, if you do that your location and azan time will be correct.

Nokia Ovi store has two versions of HemeAzan.
1. HemeAzan5 (Athan, Salah): For Nokia S60 5th edition devices (N97, N97 Mini, Nokia 5230, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia C6-00, Nokia X6 etc). This has included magnetic compass feature (for N97 & N97 Mini) by this you can find Kiblah direction directly just like magnetic compass. So if you have N97 or N97 mini please use this version.
2. Athan (Azan, Adhan):
This version works for all 3rd and 5th edition devices. In this version there is no magnetic compass implemented. All other features are same like HemeAzan5. So if you use N97 or N97 Mini then please use HemeAzan5.

Initial view is shown when the application is started for first time.

• Shows some cities in different countries
• You can select one if your city is there or insert latitude and longitude with the help from this link.
• You can select Option, Location and automatic, this will bring the name of your city and country automatically. You don't need to insert it by yourself. If your city is already listed, it will just updated the latitude and longitude. This feature may not be available to all phones.
• You can delete the location that may you may not need at all.

How to add new location and its latitude and longitude.

Finding Kiblah direction (in which direction you have to pray).

Option One by your Magnetic Compass enabled phone (N97 and N97 mini works with HemeAzan5):

Select Options | Direction


Select Magnetometer


Move the device around and see the top text changes from "Move phone around" to "Accuracy best"


Put the phone on floor and see your kiblah direction on the screen

Option Two by your GPS enabled phone:

Shows Kaba Sharif direction and a reference direction that you have used to find a direction

• When you calibrate (find direction) for Kiblah direction, you need to keep the application open.
• If you walk 150 meters, it will draw a line from center to outward in the direction you walk.
• Kiblah direction is shown on the screen with angle related to your walking direction
• Kaba Sharif is indicated by the black line arrow
• Text describes the different angles

You can see your location and Mekkah in map

Shows your location and kiblah in the same map, you can get idea where you are in the world and where is Mekkah

Sis file has been sent from PC to E71 via Bluetooth.


Asking installation, press Yes.


Showing info, press Continue.


Showing where to install, select one where is enough memory (Around 1 MB).


After installation, open the application and it will start searching for your country and capital, just wait.


Found your country.


I must select this one or select other near by one or insert manually your city.


It asks confirmation, press Yes.


Insert your location manually, select insert or automatic (to insert your location automatically).


Insert your location manually, this edit box will be visible.


Insert your country city latitude and longitude and press OK (you need it only first time).


To insert your location automatically select automatic (if it is available).


If you think you don't need some location, you can delete those one by one.


Press Back and this view will come, this is main view of our azan application, now you see your azan time is wrong and need to adjust it (This is necessary for only one time)


You can already play Azan manually.


Select the right calculation method, if you don't know where to change default can be OK.


Keep off time, if you want to keep off the time for example during your office hour, select the right one as you like.


Volume, can be change 0 (no sound at all) to 10 (Maximum sound).


Day light saving, select Yes or No that is used in your country.


Insert day light saving date in the following format.


If previous method did not fix the azan time we need to insert the difference in this page, default is 0 and assumed that azan time is OK.


Insert the difference in this format: "-3+5-2+7-0", with this value we are telling to this software that reduce 3 minutes for Fajr, add 5 minutes for Zuhr, reduce 2 minutes for Asor, add 7 minutes for Magrib and no change for Isha. Insert your one in this format.


Change the aser ratio based on your wishes (Shafi or Hanafi).


This application can be kept running as you wish.


Kiblah direction, it just show in which direction you should pray but probably you don't know in which direction is north, so you need to calibrate to know which direction is north.


You need to use your GPS to find the direction, Go outside of your room and use this feature, if you had N97 or N97 mini you should have seen another option Magnetometer.
